Chemical Peel

Peel

What is a Peel?

What we call a peel is an exfoliation stimulated by a chemical solution. It is a  safe common practice. The goal is to improve the skin texture and/or skin pigmentation.

What is the benefit of the peel?

A peel in no way alters the shape of your face. It is an entirely natural and effective procedure performed by a professional. It is discreet, so those around you will find you radiant without knowing why. It improves skin texture through exfoliation and may enhance the penetration of anti aging compounds, improve pigmentation and decrease fine wrinkling.

What are the after effects?

A few hours after the session, a slight redness to a sunburn effect will appear, depending on the type of treatment you have received.

Is it painful?

During the application of the peeling agent, you will feel tingling, a perfectly bearable feeling of heat and then everything will settle down.

What happens during the procedure?

A session generally lasts 30-45 minutes and is made up of several steps: the cleansing of the area to be treated, the application of the peel and finally, only in certain cases, neutralization. For most peels, you need to do at least 4 sessions a couple of weeks apart. We also offer multilayered peel, sensi peel which does not need neutralization.

There are different types of chemical peel e.g

  • Superficial
  • Medium
  • Deep

At Dermadee we only do superficial and medium chemical peels.

Chemical peeling is indeed a dermatologic art.It should be done by professionals and patients of color should be peeled with caution.

What safety precautions should I take?

Tell the doctor if you are pregnant, have had any allergic reactions, or you are undergoing any beauty(hair removal, tanning, micro-dermabration) or medical treatment. You must be sure to protect yourself from the sun as your skin will be sensitive. Always use post procedure products as directed by your doctor.
